In 1864, St. John’s was founded in Mahone Bay and enjoys a 154 year history as a vital and active part of our community. Though times have changed, much of our current building still harkens back to the days of boat-builders, sea-farers and faithful Germanic heritage.
St. John’s was the first of the three churches to occupy the current parcel of land along the water’s edge and, according to Wm. M. DesBrisay’s History of Lunenburg County was the first place in Nova Scotia to display a Christmas tree. But we are more than our history - we are a place of continued re-formation. We continue to dream about the people and the church that God intends us to be. There is a place for you at St. John’s! |
